Decentralising our food networks and building community resilience is crucial now and for the future. Help us bring GROW Market Place to life.support grow market place
We’re very excited to launch this crowdfunding initiative that allows you to grow fresh, organic food in your own backyard and then buy, sell or exchange it within your community. Decentralising our food networks and building community resilience is crucial now and for the future. For every 50 tunnels sold, one tunnel will be donated to an Australian school.
Please note 2040 Outreach Pty Ltd is a philanthropically funded organisation that produced this video in return for a small percentage of sales so we can continue to share positive solutions.

What if we could reduce CO2 in the atmosphere, restore health to the planet and secure our future food supply all that the same time? Well, we can!join Carbon 8 Learn more about this solution
What if we could reduce CO2 in the atmosphere, restore health to the planet and secure our future food supply all that the same time? Well, we can! Regenerative agriculture is a system of farming and grazing practices that can reverse climate change by building healthy, biologically-diverse and mineral-rich soils, all the while sequestering carbon from the atmosphere. Global soils contain 2 to 3 times more carbon than the atmosphere. Project Drawdown, has estimated that regenerative agricultural could remove an astonishing 23.15 gigatons of CO2 from our atmosphere by 2050! All the while making our soils healthier and our food more nutritious. It’s a win-win for people and the planet!
We are thrilled to help launch the Carbon8 Fund which supports farmers transition to regenerative practices by paying them to put carbon back into the soil. This will help us reverse global warming by drawing down carbon from the atmosphere, supporting farming in the transition, healing our soils by pumping it with carbon and improving its natural capacity to retain water, and ultimately benefiting our food systems by making our food more nutritionally rich.
"One person, through a donation of $8 a month, can sequester over 1000 tonnes of CO2 per year and offset 80 people who aren't helping yet.” - Mike McCosker

Marine permaculture is a regenerative solution that sequesters carbon and restores balance to our oceans.donate now Learn more about this solution
Our oceans absorb almost all of the excess heat in the atmosphere - about 90% of it - and this means they too are warming rapidly. They are also becoming more acidic because they also absorb excess carbon dioxide. Ocean heating is causing mass coral bleaching and threatening marine ecosystems. Even if we stopped pumping more carbon into the atmosphere, the oceans are already too warm and are in need of an innovative solution. Luckily, there is one incredible organism that can change all of this - seaweed! Growing up to half a meter a day, seaweed removes carbon dioxide from the water, restoring the alkaline balance. It can draw down huge amounts of carbon from the atmosphere and help restore marine ecosystems (Plus it has so many uses!).
We teamed up with the Intrepid Foundation, the Climate Foundation and the University of Tasmania to launch Australia's first seaweed platform in Storm Bay near Hobart. Thank again to everyone who embraced the potential of seaweed as a natural climate solution and contributed to the crowdfunding campaign.
We're preparing to launch a fundraiser for a new seaweed project based in the UK and we are excited to share the details with you in the coming months. In the meantime, all new donations received on the current crowdfunding page will be allocated to the new project. Every dollar you donate will be matched by the Intrepid Foundation. This is a great way to join the Regeneration and bring the vision of 2040 into reality. Click the donate button to take action. We believe it's time for a new economic model, one that benefits all people while staying within the means of the planet.Learn more
The economy has delivered so many benefits to society and people, but no matter what side of the discussion you're on, we need to talk about the impact on the environment and how it’s holding us back from achieving real change. If we put the health and wellbeing of ourselves and the planet at the heart of our economic system, we can radically pivot towards a safer and brighter future for all.

In this week’s featured clip the Environmental Psychologist Dr Renee Lertzman shares her vision for 2040.Learn More
These days our news feeds are filled with images and stories of a bleak future. This may be why many of us feel paralysed when it comes to taking action on solutions to save our planet. Environmental psychologist, Dr Renee Lertzman, explains that when we receive information charged with fear, dread or anxiety, the limbic system in our brain can be activated, which can override the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain associated with creative thinking and problem solving.
The more that we can acknowledge openly and explicitly how we're feeling about what's going on, the more quickly we can free up our energy to be strategic and creative. By opening up a dialogue, we can empower all voices to join the conversation, connect through shared values, and create a shared vision for a new story for our planet. In this way, the climate crisis can be viewed as an enormous opportunity to unify, collaborate, step up, and activate our influence and agency. The climate movement is evolving and we understand more about creativity, resilience, and problem-solving than ever before. Join the conversation by using the hashtag #WhatsYour2040Learn More

Empowering and educating women and girls leads to a lower population and less pressure on resources.Support the Fundraiser Learn more about this solution
Every year, we humans consume the amount of resources that the world is able to replenish by August. That means for the rest of the year, our booming global population is taking away from future generations. So how do we reduce the pressure of a booming population on our planet? The evidence is clear that empowering women and girls with education, access to reproductive health services and work opportunities can give them a better quality of life and have an enormous impact on the planet. The UN predicts that if 98 million more girls were able to complete their education, it would mean 1.1 billion fewer people on the planet.

It’s the kind of film that you feel could make a startling difference if the people in power who could implement change get to see it. Even if they don’t, there’s plenty to be learned at a grassroots level.

"We interviewed over 100 children from around the world for 2040 and asked them what their hopes and dreams were for the future. It is a world they will be inheriting from us so we have to show them that solutions exist, that there are people who care deeply about their future, and that wonderful careers await with genuine purpose and meaning."
